Privacy Policy

Effective from June 29, 2026 · Last updated June 29, 2026 · Canada
In plain English: We collect the information needed to create your loan agreement and run your account. We never ask for or store any government ID — we only use a date of birth to confirm age. We don't sell your personal information. We use trusted providers (like Stripe for payments) and protect your data.

1. Who we are

LendRight provides self-help loan-agreement tools for people in Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it, consistent with PIPEDA and, where applicable, Quebec's Law 25.

2. What we collect

What we don't collect: We do not collect, request, or store government-issued ID, identity documents, photos or scans of ID, driver's licences, passports, or biometric data — and we never ask you to upload any. To confirm age, we only need a date of birth.

3. Why we collect it

To create your agreements, confirm that each party has stated they meet the age of majority, operate your account, process payments, provide support, improve the service, and meet legal obligations.

4. Age verification — and why we don't ask for ID

To create a valid agreement, both parties must meet the age of majority in their province. We confirm this using date of birth only. We do not collect, request, or store government-issued ID, identity documents, photos or scans of ID, driver's licences, passports, or biometric data, and we never ask you to upload any. Date of birth is treated as sensitive information, protected accordingly, and kept only as long as needed to provide the service and maintain valid signed agreements, or as required by law.

5. Who we share with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run LendRight (for example, payment processing, hosting, email delivery), under appropriate safeguards. The other party to your agreement receives the agreement and the information necessary to review and sign it. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Where your data is stored

We aim to store Canadian users' data in Canada. Where a service provider processes data outside Canada, we use appropriate contractual and security safeguards, and your information remains subject to this policy.

7. Communications and marketing

We use your email address, and any mobile number you provide, to send service messages needed to run your agreement — sign-in links, verification codes, status updates, and copies of your signed documents and receipts. If you add a mobile number, you may also receive these updates by text message; standard message and data rates may apply. We may also send occasional product or marketing messages, and you can opt out of those at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us, without affecting essential service messages. This is consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

8. Your choices

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, update or remove optional profile details, and opt out of marketing, by contacting us. Some information must be retained to maintain valid signed agreements.

9. Contact

LendRight is operated by RULE8 Inc., a Canadian corporation, which is the data controller responsible for your personal information. Privacy questions or requests? Email doit@trylendright.com.
